Internal Fan (2007-09-10 103v3LoRes)

This is a contemporary cooling fan, one of hundreds dumped into a huge cardboard box for sorting recyclable computer parts at The Computer Museum, a project of Goodwill Industries of Central Texas.

Every year, Goodwill receives 27,000 computers and other electronics in donations. Everything is recycled or resold and kept out of the landfill. Over the years, they have received some very old and very unique computers, so instead of reselling them, Goodwill started the Computer Museum in 2005 to share these pieces of history with the public.

The museum is organized and maintained by volunteers, and currently there are over 100 machines on public display, dating from the 1970's to the early 1990's. Goodwill Industries of Central Texas generously provides this space so that these machines may be preserved together for the public to enjoy.

While many of these machines have been obtained through standard donation procedures, some of them were donated expressly for the museum. If you would like to donate or loan any equipment for display in the museum, please contact Goodwill Industries of Central Texas.
